CLIENT

CONSULTATION

Client consultation to us is the most important factor to creating a good relationship with the client from the start. During the consultation meeting, we make sure to talk about the following key terms with the client:

  • Shape

  • Hair Strokes

  • Pigment

  • Test Patch

  • Medical/Skin Conditions

ALWAYS REMEMBER

During the first procedure, it is imprortant to stay light and conservative. You can always darken at the second precedure but it's harder to make it lighter. During the second procedure you are able to fine tune and make sure it is symmetrical with each eyebrow and make sure it is shaped to the clients request. If the client chooses to go thicker on the first appointment, explain that you may go thicker on the next appointment, remind them that you can never go thinner at the second appointment if they decide later that it is too thick.

DESIRE VS. NEED

Your client might want a specific color or look but it is your responsabilty to guide them in the right direction for the best look. You have to remember that you are the professional and that you make the ultimate decision to combine between their ultimate desire and your skills.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD?

Microblading is usually a two-session process, the initial procedure and the touch-up procedure, but there might be a need for a third session. It is important that the client knows that there is a healing process involved, and you need to inform the client that the quality of the outcome depends on the correct treatment during recovery time. Microblading is a bunch of little incisions into the skin that may cause swelling, redness, itchiness, irritation and infection in a case that they don't heal properly. After a proper procedure, it is normal for the skin to be red and swollen depending on skin sensitivity, it can be anywhere from mild to severe swelling. In the first days the eyebrows will look much darker because the body is rejecting the pigment and It will take approximately 10-12 days to fully scab over. It is important to guide the client to treat the area as a wound and should not pick or irritate the scabs. This can cause scarring and loss of color pigment. The client should avoid excessive exposure to the sun and avoid extra hot environments such as sauna\sport activities etc. Once the scabbing has stopped, it will look as if there was a loss in pigment. This is completely normal depending on how the client's took care of the area during healing. The loss of color pigment can be anywhere from 20%-70%. This is due to the fact that after 10 days our skin forms a protective barrier which makes the pigment look lighter and blurry, this is normal. The pigment takes approximately 4 weeks to appear again. It is important that clients are aware of the healing process, often it is during the first few days that they will be worried and can over react, make them trust in the process!

BEFORE &

AFTER CARE

The client needs to know the full process of their upcoming procedure when it comes to before and after care. This ensures that our clients are fully informed before their procedure, in case they were planning a vacation or had a procedure done prior to this one. It is important for you that the client knows all neccesary information and this will ease any anxiety that they may have about their upcoming procedure.

EYEBROW BEFORE CARE

The client needs to know the full process of their upcoming procedure when it comes to before and after care. This ensures that our clients are fully informed before their procedure, in case they were planning a vacation or had a procedure done prior to this one. It is important for you that the client knows all neccesary information and this will ease any anxiety that they may have about their upcoming procedure.

  • Do not have a tanned or sunburnt face

  • Do not take medications such as Aspirin, Niacin, Viamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hrs before procedure

  • No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure

  • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle

  • No blood thinners 3 days prior to procedure

EYEBROW AFTER CARE

Have your client avoid water as much as possible. Some water is alright, be sure to pat dry. Apply SCALPA Rehab. For dry to normal skin - apply 2-3 times a day for 3 days. For oily skin - apply 1 time a day for 3 days. Have them avoid wearing makeup as the scabbed areas heal. Do not pick at the scabs. Avoid swimming, saunas, steam or anything that will cause excessive sweating for at least seven days after the procedure. Avoid direct sun for 3-4 weeks after procedure. Have them avoid any facial treatments include cosmetic procedures for a month.

Please Note: the eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to the scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures. It is normal during the healing process for the pigment to lighten up.

  • DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch at the treated area

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure

  • Avoid heavy sweating for the first 7 days after the procedure

  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks

MICROBLADING IS NOT RECOMMENDED IF:

The client is either pregnant or nursing, diabetic, undergoing chemotherapy (consult your doctor), has a viral infections and/or disease(s), epilepsy, has a pacemaker or major heart problems, had an organ transplant, deals with skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area, is sick on the day of the procedure, had botox in the past 1 month, or used accutane in the past year.

ALWAYS REMEMBER

It is important to always provide your client with clear after care instructions and advise them to be patient as this is a process. Make sure they know not to expect immediate results and please be patient. It will be a few weeks until the full scope of the procedure is visible.

HOW YOUR CLIENT SHOULD FEEL POST-PROCEDURE

Everyone's skin is different, therefore everyone's reaction to the procedure will be as well. After the initial procedure they may have some swelling and some tingling for an hour. To reduce swelling and help the healing process speed up, you should provide the client SCALPA Rehab Cream to be applied every 1-3 times a day depending on skin type. It will provide pain relief, moisturize and help retain the color of the pigmented area on the eyebrows.

COLOR-HEALING

PROCESS

Immediately after the procedure, the area treated will look much darker and much more defined than the final results. Be prepared for the color to be significantly lighter and the overall appearance much softer and more natural after the healing occurs. It will take time for this transition, based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates. Usually the exfoliation process occurs for about 5 days and will be completed at about 7-10 days. At that point, the contrast between the initial intense and dark color and the new softer and lighter color may be such that your client may feel very disappointed, you need to let them know that this is normal and expected and that the second appointment at 4-6 weeks after will be the “perfecting session”.At your Touchup appointment the client may need additional strokes to fill in more, or maybe an area did not take well. The color may need an adjustment or the client may wish to have the brows lightened or darkened. Other reasons could be symmetry with tails, or one is closer to the nose than the other, one is thinner Etc. These are all minor touch ups and we expect to have these adjustments to make at the second appointment. At that time shape and color will be adjusted to their liking and they will love their new look!It is likely that your client will need a touch up 1 year later, when the eyebrows begin to fade out, you will simply need to add layering or additional strokes or maybe a color change as well.
